Typical Setup for Eddy Current Sensor Application

How is a typical application set up?

In a typical application (pictured) the part would be placed in a nest and clamped. Probes placed on a slide (or moved with a robot) would be advanced until they are inserted into the holes. Once the probes are inserted it would be determined if the part is good or bad. The part can then be removed and the process started over.

How much smaller are the probes that the hole?

Typically the probes are about 1.5mm to 2mm smaller than the diameter of the hole.

How are probes advanced?

Probes can be advanced using any number of methods including air cylinders and robotics.

How do we interface to the TC2000 digital version?

The digital version of the TC2000 has a normally open relay contact that would be hooked up to an open digital input on the PLC. Once the TC2000 sees a good part the relay will close. The relay is always active and defaults to the failed mode.

How do we interface to the TC2000 analog version?

The analog version of the TC2000 supplies a +-5V analog signal. It would need to be hooked up to an analog input on a PLC or computer.

I need an integrator to build a complete machine. Can you do that?

We are not a machine builder; however we do work with a number of reputable integrators. We can put you in contact with a number of companies that are familiar with our products that can build a machine to your specifications.
